Campbellford, Ontario – Santa will arrive in Campbellford on Saturday, November 30 at 3 pm for the 71st annual Campbellford Santa Claus Parade. “We are excited to announce the 2019 theme: An Ugly Sweater Christmas Party!” said Nancy Allanson, Co-Chair of the Parade Committee.
“We were curious to see how this popular trend would translate to a parade theme and we’re confident the community is up for the challenge,” added Co-Chair Brian Redden.
The parade will also be taking a new route this year. “The parade route will remain on the east side of the river. While it isn’t an optimal situation, it’s necessary for emergency situations and the safety of both participants and the public,” said Mrs. Allanson.
The parade will form on Ranney Street North (opposite Campbellford District High School) beginning at 1:45 p.m. All floats and vehicles participating in the parade will enter via Front St. N. The parade will start at 3 pm sharp, taking Market Street to Front Street through to River Street then onto Doxsee Avenue. Santa will return to the Town Square on Front Street for visits with the kids.
“There will be some adjustments for everyone, whether it is the volunteers, participants or parade-goers.” said Mr. Redden. “In recent years we have seen the parade grow along with an increase in traffic, so it’s time we made this decision to ensure everyone’s safety continues to be a priority on parade day.”
